The Sun Odyssey 440 represents an excellent choice for adventurous sailors seeking a well-designed cruising platform with genuine comfort and performance. Based in the stunning Alimos Marina near Athens, this 2019 model places you perfectly positioned to explore the legendary Greek islands, from the Saronic Gulf to the Cyclades and beyond. Built on Jeanneau's proven design philosophy, the 440 combines modern construction with classic sailing principles. The spacious 4-cabin, 2-bathroom layout accommodates groups of up to 10 comfortably, making it ideal for family holidays or friends seeking shared adventures. The well-appointed galley and comfortable saloon serve as inviting gathering spaces during calm anchorages or lazy afternoons at sea. Sailing characteristics are responsive yet forgiving, with a well-balanced sail plan featuring furling main and genoa that make deck work accessible even for less experienced crew. The reliable 57hp Yanmar engine ensures reliable auxiliary power for challenging winds or navigating narrow harbor approaches. Cruising speeds of 7-8 knots combined with good fuel capacity make passage planning straightforward, while the substantial water reserves support extended anchorages away from developed marinas. The Mediterranean setting offers perfect conditions for leisurely day sails between emerald-water anchorages, exploring whitewashed villages, and enjoying the region's world-class cuisine. Whether you're seeking genuine sailing adventure, relaxed family time, or the perfect bareboat platform for self-directed exploration, the Sun Odyssey 440 delivers an authentic, memorable Greek island experience that balances capability with approachable handling.
